Chocolate Cupcakes with Nutella Frosting
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup hot water
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
100 g butter
1 cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla for 3 minutes and then add hot water.
Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cocoa powder. Mix well.
Fill each muffin cup about 3/4 full of batter and bake for about 18 - 20 minutes
or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
Let them cool completely before decorating.
Cut the peak of the cupcakes & use the crumbles as sprinkles.
100g butter softened
250g confectioner’s sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp heavy cream
In a bowl, beat the butter, Nutella and powdered sugar on low speed.
Add vanilla and cream beat for 3 to 4 mins.
Pipe frosting on cupcakes and sprinkle some crumbs.
