1 Kg Mysore Pak with Just 4 Ingredients | Soft Mysore Pak Sweet Recipe
Learn how to make 1 Kg of soft and delicious Mysore Pak at home with just 4 ingredients - besan, ghee, sugar, and water.
This sweet is rich, golden, and melts in your mouth just like the ones from traditional sweet shops.
Perfect for festivals, celebrations, or any special occasion.
Ingredients:
1 cup besan/gram flour/chickpea flour / kadle hittu
1 1/2 oil & ghee mixture
3/4 cup water
11/2 cup sugar
Method:
Sieve one cup of besan, also called gram flour or chickpea flour.
This makes the flour light and removes lumps.
Now, add half a cup of the ghee-oil mixture and whisk it into the flour.
Mix well until smooth and without lumps.
Keep this aside while we prepare the sugar syrup.
Now, heat the remaining ghee and oil mixture until hot.
In a heavy pan, add 3/4 cup of water and 1 1/2 cups of sugar.
Stir and let it boil until it reaches a one-string consistency.
To check, press a drop between your fingers; it should stretch into a single string.
This step is very important for the perfect texture of Mysore Pak.
Once the sugar syrup is ready, reduce the heat to low.
Slowly add the besan mixture into the syrup while stirring continuously.
Make sure no lumps are formed.
Start pouring the hot ghee-oil mixture little by little into the besan mixture while stirring.
The flour will drink the ghee and start thickening.
Continue stirring and repeat this 2 to 3 times until all the ghee is absorbed.
Keep stirring on a low flame.
Slowly, the mixture will leave the sides of the pan, and oil will start releasing. That means it’s ready.
Don’t wait too long, or it may harden too much.
Immediately transfer the mixture into a greased tray with some depth.
Spread evenly. The mixture will continue to cook with its own heat, giving it that golden brown in between.
After 5 minutes, cut into desired pieces, but don’t separate them yet.
Let it sit for 30 minutes. After it cools, gently separate the pieces.
And here it is, rich, soft, and perfect Mysore Pak.
