Besan Ladoo | Besan Laddu

Servings - 10


  • 1 cup besan (gram flour) 

  • 1/4 cup ghee + 1 tablespoon extra 

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar 

  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder 

  • Chopped pistachio (optional)  


  1. Add besan and ghee to a heavy-bottom pan.  

  2. Stir and set the heat to low. 

  3. Mix the besan and ghee together. 

  4. It will form a clump initially, but keep stirring. 

  5. Keep stirring the mixture on low heat for 8-10 minutes.  

  6. Continue stirring until the besan turns golden brown and aromatic. 

  7. At this point, add 1 tablespoon of ghee and mix. Roast for 3-4 minutes. 

  8. Remove the pan from heat and let the besan cool down for around 5 minutes. 

  9. Add powdered sugar and cardamom powder.  

  10. Mix until everything is well combined. 

  11. Pinch a small portion of the mixture and press it between your palms, then roll it to form a round shape. 

  12. Repeat for the remaining mixture. 

  13. Garnish with chopped pistachio and store the laddus in an airtight container.
