Carrot 65

Ingredients for batter:

  • ½ cup plain flour

  • 1 tbsp corn flour

  • 1 tsp oil

  • 1 tsp ginger & garlic paste

  • ¼ tsp chilli powder

  • Few curry leaves

  • 2 tbsp yogurt (extra if required)


  • 200g carrot

  • Oil for frying 

  • 1 tbsp ginger (chopped)

  • 1 tbsp garlic (chopped)

  • Green chillies to taste

  • Some curry leaves

  • 1 tsp soya sauce

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with some water

  • ¼ tsp Ajinomoto

  • Salt to taste

  • Food colour (optional)

  • ¼ chilli powder


  1. Clean and cut the carrot into desired sized pieces.

  2. Make a thick batter with the above ingredients as mentioned and add carrot. 

  3. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry carrot pieces as pakodis in medium hot oil.

  4. Take them on a paper towel. 

  5. Heat 2 to 3 tbsp oil in a pan.  Add ginger, garlic, chillies and curry leaves. Sauté.

  6. Add soya sauce and cornstarch, mix well. Add Ajinomoto, salt, food colour and chilli powder. Mix.

  7. Add fried carrot and give it a good mix. Serve hot.
