Tofu Recipe | Vegan and Perfect Meat Substitute | Serve This Tofu as Snack or Side Dish or Starter
Servings - 2-3
Ingredients:
400g tofu
1 1/4 tsp chilli powder
1 1/4 tsp garam masala
1 1/4 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp ginger - garlic paste
Salt to taste
4 tbsp oil
2 tbsp lemon juice + 1 tsp extra lemon juice
1 red onion
1 green bell pepper
Method:
Cut the tofu into your preferred shape (cubes, strips, or slices) and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the tofu with 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp coriander powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and 2 tbsp lemon juice.
Gently mix to coat the tofu evenly.
Let it rest for 30 minutes.
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a heavy-bottom pan over medium-high heat.
Arrange the tofu pieces so they touch the pan's surface and brown them evenly on all sides. Transfer to a plate.
In the same pan, heat the remaining 2 tbsp oil.
Add sliced onion and sauté for 1 minute.
Then, add the green bell pepper and sauté for another minute.
Season with 1/4 tsp chilli powder, 1/4 tsp garam masala, and salt to taste.
Stir in 1 tsp lemon juice. Cook for 1 minute.
Add the cooked tofu back into the pan.
Mix gently to coat with the spices and vegetables.
Cook for 1 more minute.
Enjoy hot as a side dish, or pair it with rice, quinoa, or flatbreads for a wholesome meal!
