Masala Dosa | Plain Dosa | Set Dosa | All In One Batter | 3 Tiffin Recipes


  • Rice - 2 cups

  • Urad Dal (Split black gram) - 1/2 cup

  • Cooked rice - 1 cup 

  • Fenugreek Seeds (Methi) - 1 tbsp

  • Salt - ½ tbsp.

  • Cooking soda ¼ tsp

  • Water as needed

  • Oil for cooking dosa

  • Some red chutney

  • Potato masala - 1/2 cup


  1. Wash and Soak rice, dal, fenugreek and cooked rice at least for 3 hours. Once soaked drain the water. 

  2. Add little water & grind in two batches. 

  3. Pour it into a container and add some salt and soda. Mix well. Leave this batter to ferment for overnight.

  4. Once the batter is fermented, mix it well.

Masala Dosa: 

  1. Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat, pour ladleful of batter & spread evenly.  Drizzle some oil.
    Cook the dosa on medium heat till it's base becomes golden brown & crisp.

  2. Apply some red chutney. Place the potato masala in the centre and fold the dosa.

Plain Dosa:

Pour ladleful of batter & spread evenly, cover and cook for a minute.

Set Dosa:

Pour ladleful of batter for each dosa & spread it little.
Drizzle some oil & let it cook for a minute, now flip over and cook for 30 seconds.
