Steamed Egg Pudding | Caramel Bread Pudding
For caramel sauce:
Sugar - 4 tbsp
Water - 1 tbsp
For bread pudding:
Water – 1 cup
Condensed milk – 1/2 cup
Bread – 3 (white or brown)
Eggs – 2
Vanilla extract – 1 tbsp
4 cups of water for steam cooking the pudding
In a saucepan, melt the sugar.
Cook on medium heat till sugar dissolves, then add water.
Boil until the sugar turns into a deep golden or amber colour.
Pour caramel sauce in a small cups and coat, keep that aside.
Blend in the bread, 1 cup water, condensed milk, eggs, and vanilla.
Then fill the pudding mixture into cups and keep that ready.
(For individual servings use small cups and for 1 single piece of pudding use a large bowl).
In a saucepan, add 4 cups of water and place the metal colander.
Place the cups in the colander and cover the lid.
Steam for about 15 - 20 minutes. (Test with a toothpick).
