1 cup - whole wheat flour (Atta)
1 cup – all-purpose flour (Maida)
Salt to taste
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp oil
1 cup lukewarm water (As needed)
Ghee (As needed)
Mix flour, salt, sugar and oil in a mixing bowl.
Add enough water to make a smooth and stiff dough. Cover and keep aside the dough for 10 mins.
After 10 mins grease your palm with a little oil and knead the dough for 4 minutes, roll up into tube form.
Cut the dough into 7 equal sized pieces, sprinkle some flour and roll them into big discs.
Apply some ghee onto the 1st disc, sprinkle some flour and place the 2nd disc. Repeat in the same manner with all the 7 discs.
Roll gently and cut into strips. Roll the strips into a circle and press the ends.
Once done keep them in the fridge for 10 mins.
Dust and roll them into a chapatti.
Place the rolled disc on the hot griddle and cook. Apply some ghee on both sides. Serve hot.
