Ranjaka recipe | How to make easy method Red Chilli Chutney | Spicy Chutney Uttara Karnataka Style


  • 1/2 kg fresh red chilli  

  • 10-12 lime 

  • 1/2 tbsp cumin powder 

  • 1/4 cup jaggery 

  • Salt to taste  


  1. Wash, dry, remove the stems of chillies. 

  2. Microwave the limes for 15-30 seconds to get the most juice. 

  3. In a grinding jar, add chillies, lime juice, cumin powder, jaggery and salt. 

  4. Grind into a fine paste. 

  5. Store that in an airtight container.    

  6. Red chilli chutney goes well with rice, roti, dosa, Idli and also you can use that like a paste.  

  7. Note: This ranjaka chutney can be kept for 1 week at room temperature or 1 month in the refrigerator.
