Chicken Skewers with Honey Lemon Sauce

Servings - 5 


  • 500g boneless, skinless chicken, cut into 2-inch square pieces 

  • 1 tablespoon mixed herbs 

  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper 

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder 

  • 1 tablespoon paprika powder 

  • Salt, to taste 

  • 1 tablespoon onion powder 

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil 

  • Zest of 1 lemon  

For the Honey Lemon Sauce: 

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil 

  • 2-3 tablespoons honey 

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon 

  • Salt and pepper, to taste  


  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). 

  2. Pat dry the chicken thighs with a paper towel. 

  3. Cut them into 2-inch square pieces. 

  4. In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with mixed herbs, cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika powder, salt, onion powder, olive oil, and lemon zest. 

  5. Ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the marinade. 

  6. Allow it to rest for at least 15 minutes. 

  7. Pack the marinated chicken tightly onto skewer sticks. 

  8. Grill the chicken skewers for 12-15 minutes or until they are thoroughly cooked.

  9. For a golden colour, broil the chicken for an additional minute. 

  10. Whisk together olive oil, honey, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl until well combined. 

  11. Once the chicken skewers are cooked, drizzle the honey lemon sauce over them.

  12. Serve hot and enjoy!
