Chicken Curry - Flavorful and Easy Recipe No-Water No-Masala-Paste No-Cream No-Coconut

Servings - 3 to 4


  • 800g chicken with bone 

  • 2-3 tbsp oil 

  • 2 large onions 

  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste 

  • 3 large tomatoes 

  • Salt to taste 

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 

  • 1/2 tablespoon pepper powder 

  • 2 tablespoons coriander powder 

  • 1 tablespoon chilli powder 

  • 1 tablespoon garam masala 

  • 1-2 tablespoons chicken masala powder 

  • 1/4 cup mint 

  • 1/4 cup coriander 

  • 1 green chilli 

  • 1/2 lemon juice   


  1. Clean the chicken and cut it into medium-sized pieces. 

  2. Heat the oil in a pan. 

  3.  Add the onion and cook for 2-3 minutes or until translucent. 

  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute or until aromatic.

  5. Next, add tomatoes, stir, and cook for a minute, then add salt. 

  6. Cook the tomatoes until soft. 

  7. Now add the chicken and coat it well with the tomato and onion mixture. 

  8. Cover and cook the chicken for 10 minutes or until it turns white. 

  9. After 10 minutes, open the lid and mix the chicken well. 

  10. Now, add turmeric powder, pepper powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, and garam masala. 

  11. Stir and cook the masala with the chicken for 2 minutes. 1

  12. Next, add chicken masala powder and stir well. 

  13. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or until done on medium-high heat. 

  14. Finally, add the mint, coriander, chilli, and lemon juice. 

  15. Mix well and cook for a minute (do not overcook). 

  16. Serve with Indian flatbreads or rice.
