Nugge Soppu Vada | Drumstick Leaves Bread Vada | ನುಗ್ಗೆ ಸೊಪ್ಪು ವಡೆ


  • 3 bread slices

  • 4 to 5 chopped cashews

  • 1 tsp chopped ginger

  • 1 to 2 chopped green chilli

  • 1 red onion

  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

  • Salt to taste

  • 1/4 cup rice flour

  • 1 cup drumstick leaves/moringa leaves

  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves

  • 1/4 cup water (approx.)

  • Oil for deep frying


  1. Break the bread slices and crumble them using a blender or with fingers.

  2. In a large bowl add in the bread crumbs, cashews, ginger, chilli, onion, cumin seeds, salt, rice flour, drumstick leaves and mix.

  3. Then add water little by little and squeeze and mix into a dough.

  4. Pinch some dough, make a golf ball sized ball and flatten it.

  5. Deep fry them in hot oil on medium heat stirring occasionally.

  6. Fry them until it turns golden brown and crispy.

Serve drumstick leaves bread vada with your favourite chutney or tomato ketchup.

Note: in this recipe, I used 1 cup of drumstick leaves/moringa leaves. You can you more than that or less than that.
