Hot Wine | Glühwein | Christmas Glühwein | German Mulled Wine
1/2 Orange Zest
1/2 Lemon Zest
1/2 Lime Zest
1/2 Orange juice
1/2 Lemon juice
4 to 5 Cloves
1 Cinnamon stick
2 to 3 Star anise
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 cup Brown sugar
1/2 tsp freshly grated Nutmeg
750 ml Red wine
Take a saucepan and peel the zest of lemon, lime and orange. Avoid the white pith.
Add orange and lemon juice, and then add cloves, cinnamon stick,
star anise, vanilla, brown sugar, freshly grated nutmeg and
250 ml Red wine stir.
Simmer until the sugar dissolves (Stir occasionally).
Bring it to the boil. Boil the mixture until it's reduced by 1/3 (Syrup consistency).
Add 500ml wine simmer for 4 to 5 mins, discard the spices and serve hot.
