Chicken Shimla Mirch | Capsicum Chicken | Delicious Indian Chicken Appetizer
2 tbsp oil
1 kg chicken
2 tbsp ginger, chopped
2 tbsp garlic, chopped
6 - 8 green chillies, slit
2 onions, chopped
1/2 tbsp garam masala
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tbsp Black pepper, freshly ground
1 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder
Salt to taste
4 tbsp lemon juice
250g capsicum, diced
1/4 cup fresh coriander
In a thick bottom pan, add the oil and heat; once the oil is hot, add the ginger, garlic, chillies and sauté for a minute.
Add onions and sauté for 2 minutes or until transparent.
Now add in the garam masala, chilli powder, freshly ground black pepper, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt.
Stir and cook for 2 - 3 minutes over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken, mix well and coat the chicken.
Cover and cook the chicken for 15 minutes on high heat.
After 15 minutes, remove the lid and stir well.
Cover the lid again and cook for 10 more minutes over medium heat or cook until the chicken turns soft.
Now stir the chicken, add in the lemon juice and mix well.
Add diced capsicum and sauté for 2 minutes over high heat.
Turn off heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Note: Adjust the spices according to your taste, and also you can add little water if you want gravy, for rice, rotis or naan.
