Chicken Jalfrezi Recipe | Spicy Chicken Jalfrezi Recipe
Ingredients for paste:
2 green chillies
6 garlic cloves, peeled & chopped
1 tbsp ginger chopped
¼ bunch fresh coriander
4 tbsp water
Blend all the above ingredients in a smooth paste and keep that aside.
Ingredients for jalfrezi:
500g chicken breasts
4 green chillies
Mixed Bell peppers 3
2 + 2 tbsp oil
150 to 200 ml tomatoes puree
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp caster sugar
Water if required
4 tbsp cream
2 tsp corn-starch mixed with 2 tbsp of water
Wash and cut the chicken breast into strips.
Heat 2 tbsp of the oil in a large pan, add the chicken pieces and cook for 2 minutes.
Then add 4 whole chillies, onion, bell pepper and sauté for 2 minutes on high heat.
Transfer the chicken to another bowl and in the same pan heat 2 tbsp oil.
Add in the paste and cook for 3 - 4 minutes on low heat.
Now add coriander powder, garam masala, chilli powder, cumin powder and cook for a minute.
Add tomato puree and cook for a minute and then add salt and sugar, mix well.
Now add pre-cooked chicken and mix, cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
(Add water if required).
Then add corn-starch and cream mix well. Cover and simmer for 5 more minutes.
