Simple Aromatic Cumin Rice | Jeera Rice Recipe

Ingredients:  



  • 2 cups basmati rice  

  • 1 tbsp oil 

  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds 

  • 4 green chillies, slit 

  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves 

  • 2 cups water 

  • 1/2 tsp salt   


Method:



In a large bowl, add rice and rinse the rice 2 - 3 times. 

Then, fill the water and soak the rice for at least 20 -30 minutes. 

After 20 minutes, drain the rice and keep that aside. 

Heat oil in a pot, add cumin seeds and let it splutter. 

Now add slit green chillies & coriander, and sauté for a few seconds. 

Add water & salt and bring the water to a boil. 

Add soaked rice, bring it to a boil, and cook until 90% of the water is absorbed. 

Reduce the heat to low and cook covered for 2 to 3 minutes or until done. 

Enjoy jeera rice with Indian curries.
