Microwave Egg-less Cake in 5 Minutes | 5 Minutes Birthday Cake


  • 75g butter

  • 1/2 cup of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/3 cup whipping cream

  • 1/4 cup yoghurt

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • Zest of 2 fresh oranges or 1 tsp dried orange zest (Store-bought)


  • 3/4 cup whipping cream

  • 1-2 tbsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Fresh oranges for decoration


  1. In a large bowl whisk the butter, sugar and vanilla for a minute.

  2. Then add whipping cream and yoghurt whisk for 5 minutes or until white and fluffy.

  3. Now sift the flour, baking powder and add in orange zest.

  4. Then combine wet and dry ingredients (Don't over mix the batter).

  5. In a microwave container place, the parchment paper.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared container and microwave for 5 minutes or until an inserted skewer comes out clean. (My cake took exactly 5 minutes to cook).

  7. Let the cake cool down completely before decorating. (Do not refrigerate the cake).

  8. Add cold whipping cream, sugar and vanilla extract to the cold bowl.

  9. Using a hand mixer, whip for a few minutes until stiff peaks form.

  10. When the frosting starts to come together, stop the mixer and decorate the cake.
