Rava Roti | Semolina Roti


  • 1cup Rava/ semolina

  • 1 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1 green chilli finely chopped

  • Some finely chopped Coriander Leaves

  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1/4 tsp salt


  1. In a pan add water, salt, oil and cumin seeds.

  2. Just warm the water for a few seconds. (Do not boil the water).

  3. Now add rava and mix that well without any lumps.

  4. Cover and cook the rava mixture on low heat for about 5 mins.

  5. Let mixture cool down completely, then add onion, chilli, and coriander, mix well. (It should be like a dough).

  6. Divide the dough into 5 equal parts, then pat them on greased wax paper as thin as possible.

  7. Heat the non-stick pan/Tawa,  drizzle some oil and cook the roti for 1/2 minutes before turning over.

  8. Now flip the roti and drizzle some oil, Cook each side about 1 to 2 minutes or until done.

  9. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
