1 cup Rice Rava / Akki Thari
2 1/2 cups Water (Extra water for steaming)
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Oil
1/3 cup Fresh Grated Coconut
Dry roast the rice rava on low flame until it turns aromatic. (Keep stirring to avoid burning).
In a pan add water, salt, and oil, boil the water.
Add roasted rice rava, and reduce the heat.
Mix continuously and cook until it turns little thick, then add coconut.
(You can also add green chilli, fresh ginger, coriander and cumin if you want to make masala version).
Mix continuously and cook until it turns soft dough consistency.
Let it cool down for 5 minutes. Then grease the hand with little water and prepare balls of the size of your choice and keep aside.
Place all the prepared unde in the strainer or in the greased cooker container.
Boil the water in a pot and place the unde, cover steam cook the unde on medium-high heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
Then turn off the heat and wait for 1 to 2 minutes before you open the lid.
